The answers to all your invitation questions!
Q: Do you work with couples outside of Nova Scotia?
A: Yes! While I love being able to sit down and chat about all your wedding details and your stationery ideas, a lot of my clients I never get to meet in person. We chat through email and on the phone to ensure you still receive a personable service so don’t worry if you’re not local, your stationery is in good hands.
Q: When should we contact you about starting our invitations and how long do they take?
A: Typically I start booking invitations 6-12 months in advance. The average invitation suite takes 6-8 weeks to complete. Rush orders can usually be accommodated.
Q: When should we mail out our invitations?
A: I suggest having your invitations completed and ready to be delivered 3-4 months before your wedding day. If we do save the dates they are usually okay to go out a little closer to the big day. If you are getting married on a long weekend in the summer it is good to send them out a little sooner. Also, consider that you should have reply cards back 4-6 weeks before your wedding day.
Q: How are our invitations printed?
A: All invitations are professionally printed on a digital press in the Annapolis Valley. I strive to keep my printing local to ensure colours are correct and your sample and invitations can be completed in a timely manner. If you’re interested in another printing format we can discuss that at the time of your consultation.
Q: Who creates your designs?
A: Your invitations are designed by me specifically for you as per your wedding colours, style and layout choices. This way you get exactly the look you want. If your mockup isn’t quite what you were envisioning, don’t worry, I will fix it until it’s perfect!
Q: We are not sure about etiquette and wording, can you help?
A: Yes! There are a lot of do’s and don’ts when it comes to wedding etiquette and your invitations. If you’re not sure what wording you need I can help and we can also look at previous samples for ideas.
Q: Who assembles and mails our invitations?
A: If your invitations need gluing or any assembly I personally look after them to make sure they are perfectly presented. I typically leave the stuffing, sealing and addressing to you, but I do offer to stuff and seal invitations for couples overseas or on a tight timeframe.
Q: Do you offer bespoke designs?
A: I offer 2 options for invitations. You can choose from a curated selection of designs that can be customized to your wedding colours or I can design your invitations from scratch to suit your own personal style.
Q: How many invitations do I need to order?
A: I usually suggest ordering around 60% of your total guest list number. You typically only need 1 invite per couple or household.
Q: We’re having a small wedding and want shop local, how can we save on our invitations?
A: I would suggest choosing a design from my curated line of pre-designed invitations to keep your each price down. Any wedding needing less than 50 invitations is considered a small order.
Q: Will I see a proof before they are printed?
A: Of course! after your digital proofs are approved a full printed sample will be printed and assembled so you can hold your invitation and double-check for errors before they are all completed.
Q: How can I view samples and paper choices?
A: I have a large selection of paper options and samples for viewing. Once you have decided to book me for your wedding stationery we can sit down and go over all the options to make sure we pick the perfect colours, paper and finishing options for your invites. You can also find me at a select few local wedding shows, check my social media for upcoming events.
